With even more power and torque on tap, Bentley’s updated GT Speed breaks cover alongside the new Black Edition version.
Crewe engineers have managed to extract even more power from the Continental’s 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 unit, which now produces 642 PS instead of 635 PS, with 20 extra Nm (14 lb-ft) of torque.
This brings the total to 840 Nm (619 lb-ft) and as a result, the 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint time has dropped to just 3.9 seconds, whereas the 100 km/h (62 mph) mark is achieved in 4.1 seconds.
At the same time, Bentley is introducing the Continental GT Speed Black Edition, meant to celebrate the “rich and striking depth” of the GT’s sporty character. The ‘Black Edition’ is available as both a coupe as well as a convertible and comes with a high gloss black finish to the exterior brightware, which includes the window openings and lamp bezels.
Furthermore, you get a set of all-black 21″ five-spoke directional wheels that cover the distinctive black brake calipers – though you can have the calipers with a red finish as well. Bentley is also offering contrast colors in the Black Edition for the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser – in four different shades: Hallmark, Beluga, St James’ Red and Cyber Yellow which is a brand new shade.
Inside, there’s carbon fiber on the fascia, center and roof consoles, while the dedicated Black Edition color split eyes the seats and center console. There’s also contrasting leather available in Porpoise, Beluga, Pillar Box Red and the previously mentioned Cyber Yellow.
“We have developed the GT Speed Black Edition to meet demand from customers for a model in the Continental line that offers both increased sporting capabilities and instantly recognisable styling cues. The Black Edition has a subtle but purposeful look that is backed up by exceptional performance,” said Continental GT product line director, Paul Jones.
The new GT Speed and GT Speed Black Edition are available to order now, with deliveries starting this summer.
