Many have lamented the demise of Land Rover’s emblematic 4×4, yet one man decided it was best to showcase its flaws.
Of which there is no shortage, of course, given that the Defender is a 70-year old workhorse that has not really changed much. In fact, it was deliberately left in a time capsule, doing what it was designed to do best and leaving the rest to others, including LR’s own Discovery, Range Rover etc.
Vloger Doug DeMuro caused a commotion when his review became viral, attracting the wrath of British people who did not take to his jokes lightly. On his part, DeMuro felt the need to apologize. So he proclaimed himself a lover of British cars, of which he has owned four: a Lotus Elise, two Range Rovers and an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, which he has recently bashed reviewed, too.
In a piece on Jalopnik, he praised their character. Then he went on to cite each and every one’s faults and proclaim them utterly unreliable. In a Jeremy Clarkson kind of way, only with less phlegm and more mocking included in the mix.
Tongue in cheek? Nope, not his style; guess he doesn’t mind the insults as long as they spell his name right. Let the profanities begin.
