Bugatti Chiron Goes Topless In Rendered Grand Sport Guise

Years of development culminating with a public premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, stand behind Bugatti’s newest hypercar, the Chiron.

It adopts some of the futuristic details from the Vision Gran Turismo and uses an updated version of Veyron’s 8.0-liter W16 powertrain with 1,500 HP and 1,600 Nm (1,180 pound-feet) of torque, sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes less than 2.5 seconds and top speed is 420 km/h (260 mph).

For now, the experience provided by the massive output can only be enjoyed with a fixed top, as the Chiron will originally be offered solely as a coupe. With the Veyron, Bugatti eventually went for two open-top models, the Grand Sport and Grand Sport Vitesse, so we presume it will, later in the Chiron’s life cycle, drop the lid on the Chiron, too.

The Grand Sport moniker sounds good, but whatever it may be named, we bet it’ll look very similar to what Theophilus Chin did in this rendering.
