The 2006 Chinese Grand Prix was an eventful race that saw Michael Schumacher take advantage of the rain and cross the finish line first ahead of Renault’s Fernando Alonso.

It was Jenson Button (at the moment a young Honda driver), however, that put on a show on the very last lap of the race when he fought his way up from P6 all the way to…well, you’ll have to follow to action in order to see. That is, unless you remember how it all went down.

A late rain shower turned the Shanghai circuit into somewhat of an ice rink on that day, making things a lot more interesting for the drivers themselves as well as for the viewers at home.

When the lights first turned green, the two Renault cars (Alonso and Fisichella) started 1-2, though it was Michael Schumacher who rallied to secure victory after his P6 start. Button started 4th and even though he would eventually lose that position, the weather conditions allowed him to showcase his wet-dry talents.

The footage will show him pass not just his Honda teammate Rubens Barrichello, but also Nick Heidfeld’s BMW-Sauber.

And of course, enjoy the screaming V8 symphony!
