McLaren has big plans for its Sports Series, and the 570GT is no exception.

It may look like a standard 570, but McLaren used its ingenuity to transform it into something akin to a grand tourer.

Changes made to the 570GT resulted in luggage space increasing to 370 liters. That’s hatchback territory, although the loading capacity doesn’t come in one big lump, but is segmented in two areas – a 220-liter space behind the front seats, and a 150-litre boot in the front. Not something to shout home about, but McLaren probably reckons it’s perfect for a weekend gateway to a resort.

Granted, it’s not a bonafide GT, but it comes with a set of softer springs and a quieter exhaust for greater comfort over longer trips. The rear glass cover, which houses the rear luggage compartment, gives the vehicle a more slanted roofline, and together with the standard fixed panoramic roof offers an more airy ambiance in the cabin.

It’s still got the power to thrill, though, as the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 570 PS (562 HP) and 600 Nm (443lb-ft) of torque of the 570S is unchanged. And with a 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) time of 3.4 seconds and a 328 km/h (204 mph) top speed, performance is nigh but identical.
