By revisiting the C6 nameplate with this all-new model, Citroen’s commitment to the Chinese market seems to be more about comfort and less about aesthetics.
As seen in these images from Autohome, the C6 is playing it very safe, relying on its spacious cabin, packed with nappa leather upholstery, wood trim highlights, and features such as the 12.3″ digital instrument cluster, central touchscreen display, panoramic roof and four-zone climate control to draw customers
It also measures over 5 meters (197 in) in length, making it bigger (longer) than a BMW 5-Series, and obviously bigger than the previous generation C6.
On the other hand, treating it like a genuine successor to the previous model would be inaccurate: it’s technically just a restyled version of the Dongfeng Fengshen A9 saloon, and that it uses the same PSA EMP2 modular platform that underpins the smaller 308 Sedan.
Making a decent career in China is one thing. Travelling to the much more demanding European markets is quite another. Is there any chance it could appeal even to a small number of buyers? We think not – but you can see for yourselves in the big gallery that follows right after the jump.
