The Rolls-Royce Dawn’s classic look has been electrified by Mansory’s bold, extrovert style, adding a dash of opulence in the process.
Reminiscing the color and panache of the variant presented by Rolls Royce at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, the tuning company’s own version comes with some added sporty elements to the vehicle’s elegant character. The restyling was done subtly – but effectively – without spoiling the Dawn’s stock looks and aerodynamics.
A more dynamic appearance was achieved thanks to the newly designed front spoiler, with larger air intakes and perfectly integrated LED daytime running lights. A carbon structure was also used in the lightweight construction of the bonnet, front lip and radiator housing.
The cabriolet’s flanks and rear was also redesigned, with Mansory’s own side skirts sculptured to quieten the airflow at the sides, giving it a lower and sleeker look in the process. Furthermore, in order to reduce the lift on the rear axle, the designers have fitted a spoiler lip to the Dawn’s original boot lid; Mansory says is an elegant solution, but some might argue that the vehicle’s already graceful design didn’t require a sporty treatment.
Well, at least it has the muscle to back up its newly acquired suit – although not the dynamics – getting a notable increase in performance and power. The Dawn’s twin-turbocharged 6.6-litre V12 was uprated to 740 PS (730 HP) and 1000 Nm of torque output – from the stock 570 PS (563 HP), 780 Nm. However, that won’t make the 2.5-ton car accelerate any faster from 0 to 100 Km/h (shaving just 0.2 seconds off the 4.9 stock 0 to 100 Km/h sprint), although it will top 285 Km/h (177mph).
