Teased in the first video by the firm’s founder, Luca Mazzanti, the EV-R is described as “the most extreme street-legal car ever built in Italy“.
What this means is that the Mazzanti EV-R (project code) will likely push the Ferrari LaFerrari‘s 950 HP into second place and, even if no official figures have been released so far, it will eclipse the Evantra, which carries a 7.0-liter V8 producing 751 HP and 860 Nm (634 lb-ft) of torque at 5,000 rpm.
The Evantra needs less than three seconds to accelerate from naught to sixty and will eventually hit a top speed of more than 220 mph (354 km/h). The EV-R’s design will stay true to the Evantra and it will be penned by Luca Mazzanti, who is in charge of the whole project.
With the Evantra priced at £665,000, or $939,000 at today’s exchange rates, and with just 5 units rolling off the production line each year, expect the EV-R to be even more exclusive and expensive.
Full details on Mazzanti’s new supercar will be announced on June 8, at the Turin Motor Show.
