Visitors to the 2016 London Motor Show will get to see the latest addition to the McLaren Sports Series lineup, the 570GT.
Celebrating its UK premiere after it was unveiled last month in Geneva, the sports car will be on display in England’s capital on May 5-8, where it will be joined by the 650S Spider and the sold-out 675LT.
The McLaren 570GT is a more practical take on the 570S and 540C, suitable for “everyday use and long-distance journeys”, as the Woking-based manufacturer states, set apart from its two siblings with the unique side-opening rear glass hatch that offers 220 liters of additional storage space on the leather-lined Touring Deck and, along with the panoramic roof, it creates a brighter and more open-air feeling inside.
Propelling it from a standstill to 62 mph (100 km/h) and up to 204 mph (328 km/h) top speed is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8, rated at 570 PS (562 HP) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, sent to the rear axle through a 7-speed transmission. The 570GT has three different adjustments to the handling and powertrain: Normal, Sport and Track.
In the United Kingdom, McLaren will offer the car from £154,000 ($224,393) and customer deliveries will commence in July.
