The Land Rover Defender might be an off-road going, straight-to-the-point austere automobile from the get-go, but that doesn’t mean it has so stay that way.
Nakatanenga Nature obviously thought the same, and that’s exactly why the tuner commissioned Carlex to chisel the vehicle’s sharp and bulky interior into a more welcoming cabin; it still isn’t the most refined place in the world, but at least now its premium craftsmanship makes it more welcoming and modern – for a variation of the SUV which won’t probably see an ounce of mud.
Carlex says that the highest quality leather was used, covering most of the elements, while the headliner was trimmed in black Alcantara. Emphasizing the vehicle’s off-road, rugged skills are the “perfectly done overstitching”, although the three-spoke, Momo-like steering wheel doesn’t quite fit in with the Defender’s newly acquired, stylish character.
After 68 years and more than 2,000,000 units produced, Land Rover announced the iconic model won’t be manufactured anymore, but it’s unique style – that can be modeled to suit various motoring cultures – will always get the attention of tuners, so there’s no doubt we’ll see plenty more modified Defenders in the future.
