The revamped GT-R has been taken to its homeland, following its world premiere at the New York International Auto Show last week.
For the 2017 MY, the Godzilla has received a fresh look at the front end, sporting a new chrome matte finish V-motion grille that represents the firm’s latest design signature. It is also bigger to improve engine cooling and it has a new mesh pattern.
A new, reinforced hood contributes to improved stability during high-speed driving, a redesigned front spoiler lip and bumper, pushed out side sills and side air vents close to the quad exhaust tips.
Open the door and you are greeted by the leather-wrapped dashboard and instrument panel with special stitching, 8-inch touch-panel monitor, new Display Command Control, tweaked paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel and ventilation controls with an “improved feel”.
At the heart of the car there is the same 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6, only now it’s been upgraded to 565 HP at 6,800 rpm and 467 lb-ft (633 Nm) of torque between 3,300 and 5,800 rpm.
The 2017 Nissan GT-R will go on sale at selected dealerships this summer.
