Powered by a 230 PS 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, the Special Edition RS 230 Octavia seems to make good use of its extra 10 horses during some quick sprints.

The way it pulls in the 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) sprint and of course the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) runs shows that it makes good use of that power. What’s also interesting is the way it accelerates from low speed in sixth gear.

As for the location, it looks like they used the Autobahn in order to have the room and the right (legally speaking) to take the car to 231 km/h, quite close to its 250 km/h top speed.

Speaking of numbers, the Octavia RS 230 has the same amount of torque as the regular RS, though a slightly longer peak torque band (4600 rpm vs 4400 rpm). It’s also 0.2 seconds quicker to 100 km/h and will do 5 km/h (3.1 mph) more in a straight line once it maxes out.

This is a DSG-equipped version, which is slightly quicker than the 6-speed manual model and also more efficient and arguably more comfortable to drive – depends on which side of the manual vs automatic debate you’re on.
