Classic performance cars are meant to be driven, not stored out of sight and pampered under covers waiting for the next bidder.
This 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback belongs to Addison Lee and it’s been with him since he was a teenager.
The only thing that was complete on the car at the time was that Shelby GT350 look-alike paint job. With his dad on his side helping him put the car together, Addison created that special bond between man and machine with his Mustang.
“Driving this car through the hills is a great experience. There’s really nothing else on your mind when you’re going through the gears, and onto the brakes into a corner, and then accelerating through,” he says. “There’s nothing else that you’re thinking about. It’s almost like taking a vacation after going for a drive in a car like this.”
Despite not being a real Shelby GT 350, this Mustang hides a few upgrades under its beautiful skin, including a 430hp 327ci stroker motor mated to a close-ratio five-speed manual gearbox and overhauled suspension and brakes.
Petrolicious brings us yet another classic love affair between a man and his car on their latest episode.
