We’ve seen how the limited production, race-bred Aston Martin GT8 looks – now it’s time to hear the animal in all its glory.
Limited to only 150 units worldwide, Aston’s new automobile is the ultimate iteration of the V8-powered, hand-build sports car – created as a “true thoroughbred” and inspired from the full-fat 2016 V8 Vantage GTE racing machine.
During its development process the model was chiseled at Nurburgring, so you can imagine it looks right at home on the infamous circuit. Moreover, it sounds like it belongs on the circuit, but what can you expect from an aggressive, track-tuned 446 PS (allegedly) automobile.
Thanks to its featherweight construction powered by the company’s naturally aspirated 4.7-litre V8, the GT8 has become the lightest and most powerful V8 Vantage. A dinosaur in today’s world, especially as it comes with a six-speed manual (although a seven-speed Sportshift II automatic is also available).
Each of the 150 available units will be priced from £165,000, and considering it sounds (and looks) rather similar with its bigger, angrier sibling, the GT12, the new variant will probably be the closest thing to a road-going Le Mans racer.
