A brand new Shelby Daytona Coupe is an awesome deal, no matter what.
Carroll Shelby’s spectacular creation is a painfully rare car with six cars built all in all back in the day, but if you want one, Superperformance will give you a brand new continuation series model, complete with a 550hp Roush-tuned 427 V8 mated to a manual five-speed, independent rear suspension, power windows, air-conditioning and a body finished in fiberglass.
As you would imagine, this thing sounds like thunder, also helped by the ever-awesome side exhaust pipes. Add to that the really low weight figure (around 2600 pounds or less than 1200kg) and you would normally assume that this is a monster waiting to bite you in the next corner.
Despite all the angry ingredients though, this Daytona Coupe is actually pretty civil as Matt Farrah finds out in his latest One Take episode and that makes it even more desirable if you ask us, since it allows the driver to exploit its potential without the inherent fear for your life.
Combine this with the sexy looks and you got yourself an awesome way to spend a lot of money.
