With new models in its lineup and China remaining its largest market globally, the Swedish manufacturer has posted an 11.9 percent growth for the first three months of the year.
From January to March, the brand has delivered a total of 120,591 units worldwide, compared to the previous time period in which 107,721 cars found new homes.
In China, it recorded a 13.4 percent increase, with 19,636 units delivered, followed by USA, where 16,361 cars were sold (up 19.2 percent). In its homeland, the automaker has sold 16,047 cars (+13.9 percent), while in Western Europe, 49,286 cars were ordered (+13.3 percent).
In March alone, the company has posted an 11.5 percent increase, with 52,279 cars delivered, as sales in Europe as a whole were up by 13.1 percent and the UK being the fastest growing market. The best-selling model in March, globally, was the XC60, with 14,676 units finding new homes, followed by the V40 and V40 Cross Country, with 10,965 examples.
The locally-produced XC60 and S60L accounted for most of the sales made in China and the Asian country was responsible for 7,542 cars delivered last month, up 13.9 percent, followed by the USA and Sweden, in this order, with 6,857 units (+15.9%) and 6,432 (+11.4%), respectively. In Western Europe, it delivered 23,295 vehicles, up 13.6 percent.
