We already know Hyundai’s recently launched premium brand has an aggressive plan to establish itself in the market, but this is the first time we can see what it has in store for its expansion.
An image allegedly showing Genesis’ future schedule was obtained by the Korean Car Blog, revealing that the premium brand is planning to launch no less than four new models by 2020.
These include the G70, a 3 Series-rivalling production version of the New York Concept, two luxury SUVs to rival the likes of Audi’s Q7 and Q5 and a sport coupe that is probably going to be based on the underpinnings of the upcoming G70.
According to the image, Genesis plans to reveal the entry-level G70 before 2017, with the rest of the models to follow gradually. The Korean company currently offers the G90 full-sized luxury sedan which is an updated and renamed version of the EQ900 and the G80, previously known as Hyundai Genesis.
Previous reports suggested that Genesis wants to offer models not only with plug-in hybrid powertrains but also high-performance versions of them to rival BMW’s M and Mercedes’ AMG models as well.
