It’s been considered one of the great long-distance GTs of the ‘60s and despite its polarizing looks, the Espada is a true V12 Lamborghini.

Jay Leno has been a fan for quite some time now as he purchased his back in 1986, preferring it over a Ferrari 330 GTC because of the extra two seats and the extra power.

This 2+2 Lamborghini was penned by none other than Marcello Gandini, the same man than designed the Miura. It has a very interesting history too, as the Espada’s shape was practically evolved from a one-off Jaguar model, the Pirana.

Fresh off a thorough cosmetic restoration, Leno takes us for an inside-out tour of his Lambo, explaining the concept behind it. This was essentially the brand’s luxury car, a long-distance GT with the same V12 engine as the Miura and a lot of advanced comfort features for the era like power windows and air-conditioning.

If you think about it, the Lamborghini Espada has the same philosophy with the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso, proving the advanced nature of this raging bull. And just look how tiny and elegant it looks next to modern traffic.

Not to mention the melodies coming out from that sweet V12 engine.
