Bugatti’s Vision Gran Turismo made its presence felt at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, with its 16-cylinder powertrain firing a symphony of sounds.
Created specially for the Gran Turismo 6 Playstation 3 video game and introduced last year, the show car was filmed on the shores of Lake Como this past weekend, revving its engine while being loaded onto a truck, to the delight of the crowd.
The Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo is more than a simple race car brought into the real world, as it served as a basis for the Chiron, the brand’s sole hypercar that replaced the Veyron.
While we don’t know much about the Vision GT technical features, the Chiron goes from naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.5 seconds, thanks to an upgraded version of the 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine from the Veyron, capable of churning out 1,500 HP and 1,600 Nm (1,180 pound-feet) of torque. Tipping the scales at 1,996 kg (4,400 lbs), the Chiron can reach a top speed of 420 km/h (260 mph) and, despite the steep price tag of $2.6 million, all 500 units have already been spoken for.
