UK premium automotive retailer Stratstone just bought chassis #15 of the Jaguar’s revived Lightweight E-Type, the third in line of the six cars produced.
Jaguar decided to finish the 1963 original production run of 18 E-Type Lightweights by creating the missing six cars at the same exact specifications of the original 12 cars.
The modern-day E-Type Lightweights are sharing chassis numbers from 13 to 18, offering the same aluminum body with their older brothers, shedding this way 100kg out of the weight figure.
Powered by a straight-six engine with an aluminum block and dry sump lubrication, this car is not to be mistaken for a recreation as it’s considered a true original, only made today for the cool price of £1 million (around $1.44 million in today’s exchange rates).
“Our intention for this very special Jaguar is that it will serve as a living and dynamic ambassador for Stratstone across the UK and Europe”, said Trevor Finn, CEO of Stratstone’s parent company Pendragon PLC.
“A passion for cars and motorsports is ingrained at the heart of Stratstone and its illustrious heritage. This car brings its own legacy and we’re delighted to be a part of its story.”
