The French automaker and Micro Mobility have teamed up to develop the e-Kick, an electric scooter designed to fit into the new 3008’s trunk.

The whole idea is to leave your car into a parking lot and use the e-Kick for your urban commute as a way to protect the environment.

That’s the common vision of the two companies for future urban mobility solutions. The e-Kick tips the scales at only 8.5kg and features an ultra-thin lithium-ion battery pack built into the platform while the electric motor is integrated into the rear wheel.

The innovative scooter optimizes the level of electric assistance depending on the rider’s movements, offering a range of up to 12km (7.4 miles). Top speed is rated at 25km/h (15.5mph) with a foot-brake also present, complete with a regenerative engine braking system that recharges the battery pack.

The chassis of the new e-Kick is easily foldable in seconds, which allows it to be rolled along on its front wheel instead of carrying it. “The e-Kick is a truly multi-modal designed not just to be a mobility solution in itself but also to link all the other solutions together,” said Cathal Loughnane, Peugeot Design Lab Manager. “The two handles used in driving mode fold up into a single handle that allows the scooter to roll from on one wheel, making it effortless to hop from your home to your car to a train to your work”.

The e-Kick will be available as an option to customers of the new Peugeot 3008 which features a specially designed dockstation in its luggage compartment, not only for perfect integration but as a charging point for the scooter’s battery pack.
