Because of a growing demand for a built-in navigation system for old or vintage Porsche models, the German sports car maker responded by building the ‘Classic Radio Navigation System.’

The bespoke sat-nav system was first made available to European clients back in February of last year, though now, US & Canadian customers can also fit their classic sports car with this modern, yet retro-looking piece of kit.

In North America, the system also comes with a lead for an optional SiriusXM satellite radio tuner, but otherwise it’s identical to the one released in Europe, with the same two-knob design, plus the six discreetly integrated buttons and a 3.5″ display.

In terms of compatibility, all you need is a Porsche built between the first 911 from the 1960s and the last air-cooled 911 (993 series/MY1998). It can also be fitted to the 912, 914, 924, 928, 944 and 968 models.

Once installed, drivers can have a choice of arrows and either two-dimensional or three-dimensional maps for displaying the route – with everything stored on an 8GB microSD card.
