Renault’s fourth-generation Megane is now available to order in the UK, where it will arrive in showrooms in July with prices starting from £16,600.

UK buyers will have a wide array of trim levels to choose from, starting with Expression+ and continuing with Dynamique Nav, Dynamique S Nav, Signature Nav, GT-Line Nav and GT Nav. The latter comes with a number of unique-in-class technologies such as 4Control four-wheel steering, Launch Control and Multi-Change Down.

Standard features however include ABS with EBD, ESC with traction and understeer control, cruise control, speed limited, Hill Start Assist, six airbags, seat belts with load limiters, side impact protection bars and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points for the two outer rear seats.

Each trim level gets its own optional personalization package, where for example Expression+ owners can fit their car with the Climate Pack, which brings automatic dual-zone climate control, headlights and wipers, while the Parking Pack on Dynamique Nav models adds front & rear parking sensors and rear parking camera.

Dynamique Nav versions can also get the Safety Pack, which means distance warning and automatic emergency braking – adaptive cruise control is provided only by the Safety Pack Premium on Dynamique S Nav models.

The Horizon Pack adds a sunroof and electrochrome rear view mirror, while the Look Packs add extra tinted windows and 17″ wheels. Furthermore there’s also a BOSE Pack and an Alcantara pack, where the former adds a premium sound system with 7 speakers, amp and subwoofer (for Dynamique S Nav models and above), while the latter adds Carbon Grey alcantara upholstery with blue stitching, or two-tone blue and Carbon Grey alcantara upholstery for both GT-Line Nav and GT Nav versions.

At launch, there will only be a choice of four available engines – two Energy TCe petrol units and two diesels rated at 110 PS and 130 PS. In 2017, Renault will add two more engine options, namely the Hybrid Assist (1.5-liter dCi with electric assistance) and a 165 PS 1.6-liter twin-turbo unit.
