Quite a busy year for Renault this one, as it has embarked on a barrage of new models in almost every segment.
Whether it be SUVs in all shapes and sizes, MPVs, station wagons, it has all bases covered.
At the same time, it hasn’t neglected its sporting side. On the contrary: it has just returned to Formula 1 with its own team, launched the Megane GT and, now, is readying an even more extreme version of its hot subcompact hatch.
Renault Sport has gotten around to building a concept that looks like a Clio RS that has got to the gym and came out with a meaner look.
The concept that is going to be revealed next week at the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix features flared wheel arches, larger side skirts and rear wing and cooling air outlets on the front wings.
According to The Automobilist, it will probably get a 30 HP power hike over the 220 HP existing RS, for a total of 250 ponies. That’s quite a lot for a small hatch and, if it is indeed true, then the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint should drop closer to the 6.0-second mark, from the regular RS’s already impressive 6.6 time.
