Twenty-year old Ruslan Shamsuarov and a group of his friends led police on a chase around Moscow in a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG while broadcasting the whole thing on Periscope.
Ruslan is the son of the Vice President of Russia’s second-largest oil company, ‘Lukoil’ and according to Ren-TV, did nothing to stop the the car when confronted by the cops, choosing instead to let his friend (the one behind the wheel) speed up and have some six police squads chase them around the city.
The youths went on to violate just about every traffic rule they could think of, while cracking jokes about their situation and about the police cars chasing them.
At the end of the chase, which unfortunately was filmed in portrait mode, the kids abandoned the car and tried to make a run for it on foot – they were however apprehended in a park nearby and placed into police custody.
As for the consequences, they weren’t as severe as you might imagine. The G-Wagen owner got hit with a small fine of some 5,000 rubles ($75), while Shamsuarov Jr apologized briefly while talking to Life News, saying that “it will never happen again” and that his friend didn’t stop the car because they were teasing him and “he did not want to appear weak.”
Lukoil PR people commented on the incident saying that they could “neither confirm, nor deny it.”
H/T to Denis!
