In the pickup truck segment, there are a few brands that stand out, but Tesla Motors isn’t one of them – for now, at least.

Over the years, there have been several real-life attempts made by owners or tuning companies to come up with pickup truck versions of various passenger cars, like the recently modded BMW M3 E92, the Wothersee Skoda Fabia and even a Jaguar XJ, just to mention a few, but none based on a Tesla.

What you see here, though, is a flight of fantasy from RainPrisk who did a fine job converting a Tesla Model S into what Aussies call a ute by chopping off the regular model’s roof behind the B-pillars, and giving it a sportier stance and some eye-catching styling details in the process.

While a ute or a full-blown pickup truck might sound like a crazy idea for a company such as Tesla, we’ll remind you that company boss Elon Musk hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility for the future, as back in 2013,  he made some impromptu comments while speaking to CNN:

“If you’re trying to replace the most gasoline miles driven, you have to look at what people are buying. That’s  the best selling car [F-150] in America. If people are voting that’s their car, then that’s the car we have to deliver.”

At the time, the Tesla boss had said that if an F-150 fighter were possible, it wouldn’t likely see production for at least five years. For the time being, Tesla has its hands full on regular cars like the development and production of the Model 3, but who knows what the future holds.
