VW’s Chattanooga plant completed putting together the first test body of a new model that’ll soon be added to its SUV range.
This represents an early stage in the process of bringing the new car in production, with the test body used for checking the calibration of the body shop’s equipment and processes.
The final car will allegedly be he production version of the CrossBlue concept shown back in 2013 and will be placed between the Tiguan and Touareg, offering a seven-seat configuration and a hybrid powertrain.
Other reports indicate it will just be a slightly bigger version of the Tiguan, so things are a bit sketchy at the time. Either way, VW says that production is scheduled to begin late this year, with the first cars to hit the market in 2017, meaning that it won’t be long until we find out what it really is about.
