Volkswagen’s revamped Amarok pickup truck was revealed a couple of weeks ago but this is the first time we get to see the interior changes.
The cabin is now using better quality materials and comes with the latest of the company’s onboard tech, including a high-resolution touchscreen and an infotainment system with advanced voice recognition and full connectivity features.
VW also takes pride in the 14-way adjustable ‘ergoComfort’ seats for the driver and the front passenger that offer a plethora of adjustments to provide maximum comfort and back support.
Under the bonnet of the 2017 Amarok lies a 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine which will be available with three power outputs: 163 163 PS (161 HP), 204 PS (201 HP) and 224 PS (221 HP). The latter version offers 550Nm (405lb ft) of torque and can hit 62mph from a standstill in 7.9 seconds, with the top speed rated at 120mph (193km/h). Entry-level models will be available with either a manual or an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The Aventura launch models will feature a color display between the driver’s updated analog gauges and have shift paddles on the steering wheel as standard.
Prices for the new VW Amarok in Germany start from 25,720 euros in double-cab rear-wheel drive guise and the 161hp engine. The range-topping 221hp version with 4Motion AWD and the eight-speed automatic will cost 46,525 euros and will be available from September.
Sales of the new Amarok in the UK will begin toward the end of the year, with full pricing and spec details to be announced closer to launch.
