With the X-Men going up against their most formidable opponent in Apocalypse, we think it’s time they finally got some rides that matched their style and cater to their needs.

Remember those Marvel & DC Comics cars that faithfully represented the likes of Batman, Superman, Iron Man and even the Hulk from two months ago? Yeah, those. Wolverine had his own wheels too (though that hairy R8 was too much).

This time around, there’s a a different approach to these superhero-inspired renders.

Now, while not all of the X-Men are being represented here (no Rogue, no Gambit), the ones that are do a great job as being instantly recognizable both on-screen as well as when playing the role of “car themes”. Oh, and their foe gets one of his own, too. Even bad guys could do with a nice set of wheels to take a break from destroying/dominating humanity, the universe and everything.

TESLA MODEL X – PROFESSOR X

Ah, we see what they did there. The X from Xavier matches up nicely with the Model X from Tesla. The artist even gave it a hover ramp so that the Professor can use his futuristic hoverchair when accessing the car.

According to the minds behind these drawings, the Model X is equipped with bullet proof windows and a sort of on-board Cerebro – though we’d imagine the range isn’t as good as it is back at the mansion.

BMW M6 COUPE – MAGNETO

Aside from the color-matching, this M6 Coupe also happens to be built out of the same material as Magneto’s helmet, which as you know is what keeps him safe from telepathic attacks. Oh and the fact that this German car is supposed to represent a character who’s alter-ego is also German (and is played by a German actor on-screen) is probably just a coincidence. Probably.

BMW i8 – MYSTIQUE

The idea behind this car is that it has the “ability” to shift from electric to petrol-power at the switch of a button, which we suppose can be somewhat associated with Mystique’s shape shifting powers. And of course, just like Mystique, this car usually turns heads everywhere it goes.

SHELBY MUSTANG GT350R – CYCLOPS

If you see this thing coming up behind you, it’s best you get out of the way fast because apparently its windshield and headlamps also double as red optic blasts.

Sure enough, the Mustang also matches up with this next car that belongs to Mr Scott Summers’ squeeze.

VOLVO XC90 – JEAN GREY

The story behind matching up Jean with a Volvo X90 is that the character’s sister actually died in a car accident, which has led Jean to always seek out the safest means of transportation. She probably checks EuroNCAP scores.

Optional extras include bullet proof windows and an on-board Cerebro like in the Professor’s Model X.

Toyota HILUX 1988 – WOLVERINE

Thankfully we can put that hairy Audi R8 image behind us and go with something a little more rugged that matches Wolverine’s personality as well as his…talents, so to speak.

The Hilux is well-known for being “indestructible” – though if that were true, Cpt America’s shield would have been ‘Made in Japan’ and not out of Vibranium. Either way, Logan is well equipped to handle any terrain in this thing, especially with those large custom wheels and retractable blades.

MERCEDES AMG 63 6X6 – APOCALYPSE

The story behind this car is actually quite clever. The artist says that each armored panel was “intricately designed in art from another age”, which works well with Apocalypse being the first mutant to ever walk the Earth.
