From supercars to hypercars, F1 cars to motorbikes and hot hatchbacks to heritage models, this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed gave the crowd all it could ask for.
Plenty of celebrities were on the ground too, some of them even bringing their own means of transportation, such as Keanu Reeves. The Hollywood actor completed six hill runs on his personal Arch motorcycle, a machine created in his own vision.
Motorsport stars like Mercedes F1 drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg were also there to showcase not just the W05 Hybrid (winner of the 2014 Formula 1 Constructors title), but the new Mercedes-AMG GT R as well, which Hamilton himself drove during its presentation on Friday.
In fact, you can easily make the case for the AMG GT R being the star of this year’s event, even though Aston Martin also unveiled their Vantage GT12 Roadster, and gems such as the Bugatti Chiron and LaFerrari FXX K made their presence felt as well.
Now, focusing strictly on the Hillclimb event, we will point out that just about every type of car got to stretch its legs in front of the crowd. Sure enough, among the Ferraris, Aston Martins, McLarens and so on, you’ll spot the likes of the all-new Renault Megane GT, but also budged-friendly cars like the Dacia Sandero & Sandero Stepway, as well as the Logan MCV.
One of the biggest and most impressive lineups however definitely belonged to Ferrari. The Prancing Horse lined up a wide array of GT and Corse Clineti cars at Goodwood, with the likes of the California T Handing Speciale, 488 Spider and F12tdf actually making their “UK dynamic” debut.
