With 24 hours left before Audi will lift the veils of the brand new A5 Coupe, the compact two-door takes center stage in a new batch of official teasers.
Previewed here is the manufacturer’s virtual cockpit, first seen on the TT, with its satellite navigation system, but Audi is willing to partially reveal the car’s front fascia and profile, which, as expected, look very similar to those of the latest A4.
Riding on the same MLB platform as the saloon will ensure a significant weight loss on top of the current iteration, despite the increased legroom for the rear passengers, achieved through the longer wheelbase.
The cabin will mirror the one of the A4 and the engine lineup will follow the same path, adopting a selection of petrol and diesel mills, with four and six cylinders, which will be eventually joined by the range-topping RS5, expected to use a new 3.0-ltier V6, producing up to 500 HP.
Targeting the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, BMW 4-Series Coupe, Cadillac ATS Coupe and others in the segment, the new Audi A5 Coupe will be presented at the four-ring brand’s headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany, on June 2, at 21:15, CET (3:15 PM CEST).
