With just a little over a week left until cars will race on the hillclimb at Lord March’s Goodwood Estate, a rare McLaren 675LT Spider crashed on the course.
The images, posted by Autogespot, reveal minor damage at the front, side and rear of the 675 Longtail drop-top after it flew off the track and collided with a hay bale, but aren’t accompanied by any data that might shed some light on what exactly has happened in the seconds before the supercar ended up on grass.
However, rumor has it that the exotic is actually owned by the McLaren brand, which means that it will be back to its former condition in no time.
McLaren is an official sponsor of the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which has the “Full Throttle – The endless pursuit of power” theme for this year’s edition. Taking center stage at the Moving Motoring Show will be two specially-modded P1 GTRs, which will run up the hillclimb, joined by numerous historic racers that will showcased on the estate’s lawn. Moreover, the automaker will also bring the Sports Series, Super Series and Ultimate Series range at the event, which will kick off on June 23.
