It’s no secret that Bentley will eventually roll out a two-seat super-coupe, as the British car manufacturer has been toying with the idea for quite some time now, and it’s continuously bringing the project up for discussion.

The marque’s executives have even confirmed that the upcoming vehicle will be based on the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept, and although nothing else is known about it, Auto Express reports that the car will be named Barnato.

As in Woolf “Babe” Barnato, British financier, racing driver and Wing-Commander with the Royal Air Force, one of the Bentley Boys of the 1920s. The man is a legend in Bentley’s history, as he won three entries in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, and was the main protagonist, and winner, of the illustrious Blue Train Races. When Barnato was staying in Cannes, he accepted a wager which stated that not only he could beat the train back to Calais, but that he could be at his club in London before the train even reached the English Channel).Barnato is a fitting name for a sports Bentley, considering the man’s motor sport background alone.

The car will reportedly be a strict two-seater, which will sit alongside the Continental GT in Bentley’s rage (meaning it could sport a ~$180,000 price tag), and may also come in an electric version.

But before honoring its heritage with a sports coupe, the Crewe-based car maker is believed to concentrate its resources on a second, smaller SUV (given the Bentayga’s popularity).
