Bentley has accompanied the market launch of its new Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase model with an interactive photo made up of approximately 53 billion pixels.

Created using NASA technology, which was developed to enable Mars rovers to take exploratory panoramic shots, the image is 4,425 times larger than a regular smartphone photograph.

It was formed by stitching together 700 individual shots from the same location and, if reproduced in standard print format, it would cover a football/soccer field. Viewers can use an interactive zoom function to travel virtually from San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge all the way to the Bentley Mulsanne’s cabin. You can check out the image for yourself here.

Nowhere is Bentley’s famed attention to detail better demonstrated than with our new Mulsanne. We wanted to commission this shot to capture both the exquisite detailing of the Mulsanne and the epic scale of our brand’s ambitions. We believe the result is truly extraordinary“, said the brand’s Board Member for Sales and Marketing, Kevin Rose.

The facelifted Bentley Mulsanne, unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, offers consumers a choice of two specifications: normal and long wheelbase. The former costs £229,360 ($335,050) in the UK in regular form and £252,000 ($368,120) in Speed grade, while the latter can be had from £275,000 ($401,720).

Some of the updates found inside include the new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that offers satellite navigation system and is compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink. Depending on the selected version, buyers can add a premium audio system, two 10.2-inch Android tablets in the back of the front seats and they can also choose between 24 different leather shades.

As it takes approximately three months to build each example, deliveries will commence this fall.
