One of the most desired supercars to leave the Maranello factory is the F40, produced over the course of 5 years, until 1992.
Just a little over 1,300 units were delivered to their owners and the official line is that all were finished in red. However, over the years, there have been claims of yellow and black ones, but this specific example carries an even more exclusive sky blue shade with Tricolore stripe and a Grigio border.
No, this is not its original paint, but the job was as good as it gets as it was resprayed at the Maranello body shop.
Offered for sale through an ad posted on eBay, the supercar is Classiche Certified and is accompanied by a history file. It was delivered new in 1992 and, up to date, its clock reads less than 16,500 km (10,250 miles). More than your average F40, but it’s said to be in “fantastic condition”.
Apart from the paint it’s bone stock, with its 471 HP V8 still capable of propelling it from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds and up to 324 km/h (201 mph). Add the fact that this is the last Ferrari approved by Enzo himself and you have a winner, if you’re willing to pay the £875,000 asking price, or $1,239,370 at today’s exchange rates.
Not sure about those wheels, though, beauty in the eye of the beholder and all…
