Unlike most drag racing events, supercars attending Vmax usually get to run at top speed instead of a set distance like, say, a quarter mile.
The 610 PS Huracan is inherently at a disadvantage when compared to the more powerful 488. The Ferrari’s turbocharged V8 unit is good for 669 PS and a 911 Turbo S-rivaling 760 Nm (560 lb-ft) of torque.
Like the 911, the 488 is a master at getting off the line as fast as possible, needing just 3 seconds flat to reach 100 km/h (62 mph), where the Huracan falls short by 0.2 seconds – which isn’t a considerable difference, nor is it a vital one when you’ve got an entire runway at your disposal.
Flat out, the Huracan will do 325 km/h (201 mph), which is basically the speed it got up to in this video. With a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10, the Lambo is no pushover – plus, unlike the Ferrari, it’s got all-wheel drive in its arsenal…
Ferrari though say the 488 is capable of hitting in excess of 330 km/h (205 mph), but how fast it gets there is equally important, especially since it will have its hand full with the Huracan going flat out at the same time.
Vegas odds makers would probably favor the horse over the bull, but we’d be hard pressed to make a prediction. Who do you guys have winning this race?
