Ford’s mid-size pick-up truck just received a makeover form M-Sport, and the final result looks like it shares some DNA with the full-fat F150 Raptor.

Its involvement in WRC, IRC, GRC, Blancpain Endurance Series and British GT Championship made the British company one of the most acclaimed in motorsport and the motoring industry. So you can imagine what a firm with rallying knowledge and expertise can make out of an ordinary Ranger.

In collaboration with Van Sport, the company launched the latest edition M-sport Ranger at the Abenteuer and Allrad off-road trade fair in Germany. The vehicle is based on the 3.2 tdci 4×4 double-cab variant (developing 197 HP and 470 Nm/347 lb-ft of torque), and includes a variety of enhancements, ranging from visual elements to mechanical changes.

“Our collaboration with Van Sport has been more successful than any of us ever imagined. Their bespoke, high-quality products have captured the imagination of customers around the globe and it’s something that we are very pleased to be involved in”, said M-Sport Managing Director, Malcolm Wilson OBE.

For starters, the add-ons include a front-bumper conversion, and extensions to the bonnet lip and side arches. It also sports matte black wing mirrors, door handles, window strips, side steps, while the 18-inch matte graphite wheels and Lazer Lazer lights embedded in the front grille complete the off-road experience.

A sport exhaust system and a Pedders suspension kit which lifts the rig an additional 1.75 inches off the ground change the car’s character, and underneath it you’ll find a full under tray body protection kit.

M-Sport specified – without revealing any prices – that the “baby Raptor” will be in full production for September 2016 and available in supporting Ford dealerships throughout the UK and Europe.
