In its hardest, most potent variant, the sixth-gen Ford Mustang comes with a 5,163cc V8 that develops 526hp and 582 Nm (429 lb-ft) of torque. But Hennessey wants to celebrate with a more powerful variant.
It’s been 25 years since Hennessey Performance first set up shop in Houston, Texas, and started creating high-powered cars, and to commemorate the jubilee the aftermarket specialist created the HPE800 Ford Mustang 25th Anniversary Edition.
Only 25 units will be produced, and each one will offer supercar-like performance, thanks mainly to the upgraded 5.0-litre Coyote V8 that develops 804hp and 878 Nm (648 lb-ft) of torque. The modifications list is comprehensive and it includes everything you can imagine, from a 2.9-litre supercharger system, carbon-fiber high flow air induction, and axle-back exhaust system upgrade, to Brembo brake system upgrade, upgraded injectors, and carbon-fiber exterior accessories and coilpack covers. It even comes with a serial numbered plaque attesting its exclusivity.
All these enhancements (and many more) translate into a 0 to 60mph (97 km/h) time of 3.1 seconds, a top speed of 207.9 mph (334 km/h), and a quarter mile run of 10.7 seconds at 133 mph (214 km/h).
Interested? You’ll have to dig in your pockets for $99,500 in order to own one. A considerable amount, knowing that you could get a GT350R and a GT variant – on which the HPE800 is based on – for roughly the same cash.
