As one of only 20 Lamborghini Centenario Coupes ever made was leaving the Italian brand’s Sant’Agata Bolognese cage facility, a camera was there to catch it in motion.
Revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, the limited edition supercar is dedicated to Ferruccio Lamborghini’s 100th birthday and it carries a steep price tag of almost $2 million, excluding tax, but that didn’t hinder deep-pocketed collectors from buying all examples.
Peel its carbon fiber-made skin away and you will find a monocoque produced from the same lightweight material, while setting it in motion is the same 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine sourced from the Aventador flagship. The 12-pot has been significantly upgraded, delivering 770 PS (759 HP) and 690 Nm (507 lb-ft) of torque, channeled to all four wheels through a 7-speed gearbox.
The extra muscle allows it to shoot from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.6 seconds. It will keep accelerating all the way up to 350 km/h (217 mph), while the Centenario needs just 30 m (98.5 ft) to come to a full stop from 100 km/h (62 mph).
