Even though Porsche’s 911 Turbo S isn’t at its best with the roof down, it still doesn’t back away from a drag rage.
Sure, the Lamborghini Aventador may seem almost unconquerable by anything other than a hypercar, and with 700 PS (515 kW) and 690 Nm (507 lb-ft) on tap, we wouldn’t blame you for thinking that either.
However, the 991 Turbo S (Cabrio or otherwise) is a formidable car when it comes to getting off the line. It’s got 580 PS (572 HP) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft), resulting in a highly impressive 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of 3 seconds flat.
Now, let’s not waste any time trying to figure out why Top Gear Poland put a convertible supercar against the “non-roadster” version of the other, and just accept this short clip for what it is – a demonstration. Also keep in mind that the two models didn’t get anywhere near their top speed, which means that over a greater distance, the result could have been different, which is also backed up by the numbers.
One last thing. The drivers made sure that both engines got revved before the cars got on their way, giving the Lambo “a win” even before it covered a single yard.
