Four years after it was officially unveiled in Paris, the fourth generation Clio has received a makeover.

Visually, it sports full-LED lighting signature, with C-shaped DRLs, along with a slightly redesigned grille and tweaked skirt at the other end. Four new shades, dubbed Intense Red, Titanium Grey, Pearlescent White and Iron Blue, join the already extensive color palette, while the updated exterior is completed by a selection of new wheels.

The Clio now benefits from better materials inside, where all upholsteries are new and special attention has been paid to the visual and tactile quality of the plastics.

Customers will get to choose between three different multimedia systems, the MediaNav Evolution, R-Link Evolution and R&Go, with the latter available for all equipment levels. Easy Park Assist, working together with the front and rear parking sensors and reversing camera helps the driver “to delegate the completion of parking maneuvers” and the manufacturer also states that the reshaped supermini is the first B-segment Renault to benefit from the Bose premium sound system.

Joining the engine lineup is a more powerful version of the 1.5-liter dCi diesel, rated at 110 PS (108 HP), mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, while the TCe petrol 120 PS (118 HP) can now be had with a six-speed manual transmission too.

The 2017 Clio continues to offer an Initiale Paris grade, with exclusive Givre Grey metallic finish, full-grain Nappa steering wheel and gear lever, dashboard trimming, specific door panel and leather seats in black or black-and-white. Standard equipment includes the LED Pure Vision headlights, R-Link Evolution infotainment system, Bose premium audio and Easy Park Assist. The engine lineup comprises of two petrol units, with 90 PS (89 HP) and 120 PS (118 HP) and two diesels, rated at 90 PS (89 HP) and 110 PS (108 HP). Depending on the selection made, a manual gearbox or an EDC dual-clutch automatic will channel power to the front wheels.

Renault will start taking orders for the facelifted Clio this summer. In France, the supermini can be had from €13,700 ($15,410), while the range-topping Initiale Paris Energy dCi 90 EDC will set you back for €26,200 ($29,475). Deliveries will kick off in September.
