Some car showrooms are bigger and fancier than others. But you can bet that, regardless of their size and splendor, they’ll all pretty much display cars and little else. But not C_42.
Citroën’s flagship showroom on the Champs-Elysées in Paris has cars on display, of course. But it also features a giant slide twisting and turning down 26 meters, or roughly eight stories tall. The structure incorporates 63 meters of slide, or roughly the length of sixteen C3 hatchbacks parked end to end, were you to straighten out the tube and lay it flat.
For two euros, visitors can ride the slide, descending at a rate of four meters per second to get from the top floor to the basement in just 15 seconds. At the bottom they’ll also find other games to keep themselves (or their kids) occupied, including a foosball table and a game called Batak, designed to improve hand-eye coordination and used by Citroën Racing drivers to hone their skills.
Of course there’s more to the location than the slide. The showroom also includes plenty of cars on display, chief among them the C4 Cactus Rip Curl edition and the E-Mehari concept car. There’s even a photography exhibition curated by Intersection magazine and inspired by the E-Mehari.
