Put through its paces on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the 2017 NSX came out a winner in the Time Attack 2 class.
The Japanese supercar managed to tackle the 12.42-mile (20 km) long course in a time of 10:28.820, with Nick Robinson, the brand’s North American Research and Development team member and engineer in charge of the model’s dynamic performance, behind the wheel.
“I’m incredibly happy to have won the Production Class with the new NSX! The hard work the entire development team has put into the NSX over the past few years really paid off today“, Robinson said.
Acura’s hill climb winner is based on the production version of the NSX and uses the 3-motor Sport Hybrid Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive powertrain, a lightened chassis, and a custom high-flow racing exhaust.
Apart from the Time Attack 2 class, the manufacturer had two additional NSXs tackling the hill climb, a lightly modified one driven by Nick’s brother, James Robinson, and the Acura NSX EV Concept, unveiled last week, unleashed at Pikes Peak by Tetsuya Yamano, who scored third place in the Electric Modified class with a time of 9:06.015.
