TechArt’s new Techtronic Powerkit for the Porsche 911 Carrera S and Turbo S offers significant increases in power and torque, aiding both acceleration as well as top speed for just €3,900 plus VAT.
The flagship 911 Turbo S version gets a 60 PS bump which brings its total to 640 PS (631 HP) and 880 Nm (649 lb-ft) of torque, from the factory standard 580 PS & 750 Nm (553 lb-ft). Same amount of extra muscle went on the Carrera S, raising its output from 420 PS (414 HP) & 500 Nm to 480 PS (473 HP) and 580 Nm of torque, resulting in improved performance across the board for all versions, including the S Cabriolet, 4S and 4S Cabriolet.
In terms of 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) times, the Turbo S is the quickest needing just 2.7 seconds (2.8 for Cabrio) in order to hit that mark once you install the power kit. Its top speed also goes up to 338 km/h (210 mph), whereas the Carrera S models will now do 310 km/h (192 mph).
Sprint times for the CS/CS Cabrio/4S/4S Cabrio are as follows: 3.7s/3.9s/3.6s/3.8s – a 0.4s all-round improvement compared to the factory standard models.
Once installed, the power kit can be activated via a driver switch, which works in ‘Normal’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Sport Plus’ modes, and can be operated with either the standard Sport button on the center console or the selector on the steering wheel. If you’ve got the car in Normal mode, the TechArt Techtronic kit remains inactive and the vehicle will only use its standard power and torque outputs.
