The MD Is Pagani’s Latest Zonda, Probably Not The Last

The Pagani Zonda officially went out of production in 2011, and yet here’s a brand new one.

If you’re in the market for one of Horacio’s automobiles, then we have some bad news: All the twin-turbo, V12 Huayras are reportedly sold-out. That means the only way you could get a brand-new, bespoke Pagani is to commission a one-off and hope the car maker still has some spare parts laying around.

As long as it isn’t a Huayra, as the vehicle was limited to just 100 units as part of Pagani’s agreement with engine supplier Mercedes-AMG. And that’s where the Zonda comes into play.

This stunning looking machine, brought to our attention by Prototype0, has been in the works for over a year now. It’s called the Zonda MD, named after the initials of the owner, and features a superbly-crafted fully-visible carbon-fiber body, tinted with a thin layer of ink blue paint, while the interior sports a mix of anodized aluminum inserts, brown leather, beige Alcantara seats and exterior-matching carbon-fiber pieces.

Visually, it kind of resembles the Zonda 760, but without the plethora of aerodynamic appendages. The MD lacks the central fin, but it does have a completely new hood, while the rear air-scoops fenders where replaced by NACA ducts.

It comes with a manual transmission and (supposedly) the same 7.3-litre, naturally-aspirated V12, that’s producing 760hp in the Zonda 760.
