If Tesla actually went and built a genuine all-electric supercar/hypercar, they’d probably be scratching their heads trying to think of what to call the “maximum-power” mode.
Concept Artist Khyzyl Saleem probably doesn’t concern himself with those types of things. He did however use his talents and his creativity to imagine what a Tesla supercar would look like, and this is what he came up with.
Dubbed the Tesla R45, it’s based off a Saleen S7 and “with a Hybrid transplant of some sort” it would also have AWD, which would likely mean insane, yet hypothetical, acceleration figures. It’s obviously just a rendering and not something official, as Khyzyl points out, but it’s not completely out of the realm of possibility that Elon Musk would one day see the need for something that Porsche can’t pick on, is it?
The artist also did a great job hiding the Saleen S7’s external features, as the only thing we can recognize clearly belonging to the S7 are the doors and the windshield. That’s it. The rest is pretty original and certainly looks as if it would belong in the same conversation as some of the world’s fastest cars. What you will recognize though are a couple of obvious Tesla features, such as the Model S headlights and grille (before the facelift).
The only thing we find confusing is all this talk about this being a “hybrid concept” and using a “hybrid transplant” – when in reality Tesla would obviously just go full-electric.
