This shocking video was released by Lithuanian police recently, showing a cruiser in pursuit of a first-generation Volvo XC90 apparently equipped for just such an occasion.
As soon as the clip starts, it’s obvious that the man behind the wheel of the Swedish SUV has no intention of pulling over as he speeds past a rural intersection, risking not only his life but the lives of innocent drivers.
It’s then when the car starts smoking like something straight out of a classic Bond movie, which in the end didn’t help the perp get away, but the next trick up his sleeve was particularly devious. We’re not exactly sure how those spikes were flung towards the cop car (because you won’t actually see somebody throw them), but if they were actually released via some type of “mechanism” operated by the driver, it kind of means the police weren’t dealing with a very “ordinary” criminal.
Luckily for the good guys, the spikes didn’t do any damage because the cars were too close to each other, and so the chase went on for another minute or so while the baddie tried all types of evasive maneuvers.
In the end, the police managed to pin the Volvo against the railing on the side of the road, and since that’s where the feed cuts off, we’re assuming that’s where the man/supervillain was also apprehended.
