The driver of a Mercedes SLK went viral as he sparked rage among people who know that you’re supposed to get out of the way of an ambulance, or any type of emergency responders.
Every single vehicle this ambulance came across moved out of the way, except for the SLK which kept driving for almost 3 minutes before finally stopping at a red light.
The action took place in Slovakia and as reported by the Dailymail, the ambulance was carrying an 84-year old woman who had suffered a fall. Despite all the sirens and repeated cursing, the Merc simply would not budge – which we later found out was because its driver actually thought he was helping out by “escorting” them through traffic.
The people inside the ambulance talked among themselves about how they were going to report him to the police and sure enough, when the dust settled the man, identified as Boris Zahumensky, was actually arrested and had his drivers license and weapons license suspended.
“I figured that they wanted me to show them the way,” said the driver in an interview with Cas. “I did not hesitate to risk my life and my brand new car that I only had owned for two days to do this.”
Perhaps Mr Zahumensky should have read up on what you’re supposed to do when encountering an emergency vehicle. Anyway, do you buy his “trying to be helpful” routine?
