Tastes in cars can differ from region to region. That’s why they sell so many stretched luxury sedans in China, diesel hatchbacks in Europe, and pickup trucks in America. But some things remain constant no matter where you go in the world. The Jaguar E-Type is one of them.
Widely regarded among people everywhere as one of the most beautiful cars ever made, the E-Type transcends individual tastes and local preferences. So it should come as little surprise to find one maintained in immaculate condition as far away as Lima, Peru.
That’s where Miguel Rodrigo keeps his, the fixture in a revolving collection of classic cars. Pristine as it looks, though, the Peruvian architect doesn’t just keep it in the garage. In fact he drove it across the country once – and not the narrow way from Brazil or Bolivia to the coast.
Years ago he entered it in the local Cannonball Run, driving it some 1,600 miles from Chile in the south to Ecuador in the north. He won the event, and won in spectacular style. Check out his classic Jag in this latest video from Petrolicious.
