This is the lighter, harder and faster version of the Lamborghini Huracan undertaking some final development testing.
This is the first time we get to see a prototype wearing what looks like a production body. Reports suggest that the even-hotter Huracan will make use of the Superleggera nameplate as it will be lighter by 100kg/220lbs with the targeted use of lightweight materials in the chassis and bodywork.
A huge fixed wing is just one of the many changes Lamborghini made on the Huracan body, with the new front bumper featuring wider air intakes and a more pronounced chin spoiler. The biggest change though can be spotted at the rear where there is now a whole new arrangement of things.
More specifically the exhaust system has moved now from the bottom to right in the middle of the rear end, improving this way the airflow which Lamborghini wants to take advantage of by installing a giant rear diffuser. A set of bigger wheels and brakes along with the usual suspension revisions will guarantee that this Huracan will turn faster and harder than its regular siblings.
But being lighter alone is not enough for a proper hardcore machine; that’s why the naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 masterpiece will be further massaged to offer some additional ponies, with our intel talking about a power output of around 650hp or 50hp more than the standard version and a soundtrack straight out of heaven.
Lamborghini is going to offer the new Huracan Superleggera in both Coupe and Spyder versions, with the latter to follow on a later date. As for when we’ll see the finished car, all we have to do is wait until the upcoming Paris Motor Show.
